Holy Cross Energy offers a complimentary home energy audit to its customers. Audits are conducted by Eileen Wysocki, a BPI-certified home energy auditor on the Holy Cross staff. The complimentary audit includes:

• Home energy usage evaluation
• Evaluation of electrical appliances, heating and cooling systems
• Infrared camera imaging of building envelope from all inside rooms to spot air infiltration and insulation gaps
• 4 free compact fluorescent light bulbs and 1 free water heater blanket (electric heaters only)

For a $300 fee, the homeowner can also have a blower door test. Payment is expected on the day of the test. The test involves the temporary installation of a vinyl sheet and a high-powered fan in a doorway of your home. The blower fan de-pressurizes your home, so the air leaks in your home will be drawing in air from outside. This test makes those leaky spots easy to find.
