Residential energy audits for Glenwood Springs Electric Dept. all-electric customers

Energy CoachLIMITED OFFER: Up to $200 rebate on out-of-pocket costs for a home energy audit offered to all Garfield County, Colo., homeowners through the Garfield Clean Energy Challenge for Homes. Funding is limited so get started today! Complete info.

A typical home energy audit costs $300 to $400, and provides valuable information about the next steps you can take to save energy, lower your utility bills, increase the value of your home, and make your home more comfortable.

However, rebates are available through Recharge Colorado, (see information at right), the Garfield Clean Energy Challenge for Homes, and now from the City of Glenwood Electric Utility (see beelow). Funding is limited, so apply now!

The audit will reveal the places in your home where insulation is skimpy or where outside air is leaking in. The auditor will also evaluate your furnace, water heater and major home appliances to determine whether replacement or repair could yield energy savings.

You’ll get a written report, sent by mail or e-mail, within one to two weeks after the auditor visits your home. The report will list all the measures you can take to make your home tight and well insulated. It will include cost estimates and, for some items, calculate energy savings and the payback period.

Look under the Contractor locator in the One Stop Shop at left to find a home energy auditor or building analyst. Even if you pay full price, a home energy audit is well worth the investment.
