Glenwood Springs solar PV rebates

City of Glenwood SpringsGlenwood Springs Electric offers a rebate for solar PV installed by its commercial customers.

Rebates are limited, and offered on a first come, first served basis.
Rebates must be reserved in advance.

  • Commercial customers: $0.50 per watt up to 10 kilowatts ($5,000)

  • Residential customers: $0.50 per watt up to 3 kilowatts ($1,500) effective Jan. 1, 2019

System must be designed and installed by NABCEP certified contractor

Pre-approval is required. Your solar installation contractor will fill out the pre-approval application.

CORE solar PV rebate for residential and commercial customers

CORE

$0.75 per watt for systems up to 3 kW ($2,250) for on-site, customer-owned systems

CORE also offers rebates for micro-hydro electric generation systems, 25% of project cost up to $3,000.

Federal tax credit for residential installations

A 30% federal tax credit is available for solar PV installations on owner-occupied residential properties.

The credit is for 30% of the total project cost, minus rebates, with no upper limit on system size.

The federal tax credit is scheduled to fall to 26% for tax year 2020, and fall again to 22% for tax year 2021, and will expire on Dec. 31, 2021.
